NetFiles for Faculty

NetFiles is a collaborative tool that can help faculty with research, service, and teaching.  It gives all U of I faculty and staff half a gigabyte of storage space, with built-in Web space, available everywhere the Internet reaches. This workshop will teach faculty everything they need to store documents, to distribute them, or to collaborate with peers. We will explore collaborative applications of NetFiles for your research, service, and teaching.

Web Design and Development for Faculty

Designing and building your own web sites allows you to control how students access your course material and makes it easy to share material with instructors (while also saving valuable time and making new assignments possible). This workshop will cover everything faculty need to know to get started building their own web sites to aid in their teaching. Topics to be covered include: an introduction to how Web servers and HTML work, the basics of web design and development, usability and accessibility, creating and editing pages in Dreamweaver, and publishing web sites in Netfiles or Illinois Compass.
