Printing to ICS Computer Labs

ICS has implemented a printing solution that allows users to print to our color laser printers regardless of operating system or machine platform. All ICS labs use IPP-based printing, and users are billed through their university accounts.

By adding an ICS printer definition to your computer, all students, staff and faculty can print to any ICS high-speed printer from any remote location.

Our printing system can be used in locations outside of our labs. When you send a print job to an ICS printer, the job is queued until you come to the lab and release it from the printer by entering your NetID and ICS password.

There are four steps to printing from ICS printers:

1. Installing the iPrint client and adding specific ICS printer(s) in the locations you want to print to.
2. Sending your print job to your preferred ICS printer.
3. Going to the ICS printer location and approving the fee for your print job so that it will be released from the holding queue and printed.

Printing options and prices

All Instructional Computing Sites are equipped with high-speed black and white laser printers and utilize a convenient printing system that bills directly to your University account. All black and white print jobs cost $0.10 per page. Color laser printing is available at the English Computing Site. Color print jobs cost $0.40 per page.
